International CTIA WIRELESS 2011: Day 1
It’s day 1 at International CTIA WIRELESS 2011! The show is off to a fantastic start at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Exhibitors have put the finishing touches on their booths and pavilions, the keynote speakers are about to go on stage and the educational sessions are gearing up to start. This morning’s keynotes start with FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent. Then we’ll watch a roundtable discussion with the CEOs from AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless, which will be hosted by CNBC’s Jim Cramer. Don’t forget we’ll be live streaming the keynotes starting at 9:00 a.m. EDT this morning on our website. We’ll also post clips on the show coverage site and our YouTube channel. Once the keynotes are completed, the show floor opens with more than 1,000 exhibitors and dozens of pavilions and showcases. Check out some of the exhibit highlights from the show floor. Our educational programming, renamed the CTIA Executive Forum, starts this morning too. In addition to sessions on mobile payments, marketing and apps, we are also featuring a “power panel” on the future of wireless networks with senior carrier executives. The finalists from the B!G Idea Contest will be announced today by USA TODAY Personal Technology Columnist Ed Baig. This contest showcases the most innovative ideas for products, applications and services that embody the transformative power of wireless. If you’re at the show, make sure to visit the Exhibit Innovations Stage at 11:30 a.m. for the announcement ceremony.
