How to Recycle Your “Old” Devices and Accessories
Owning a wireless device is only one part of that product’s lifecycle, it is our belief that recycling your well-used smartphone or tablet is just as important. Many consumers know that their wireless devices are capable of being recycled, but are unsure of what steps to take so that their phones, tablets and accessories are properly reused. Here are some of the easiest and most effective ways to give your wireless device a new life.
- Return your old wireless device to a carrier, handset manufacturer, or other retail outlet that collects phones for recycling. You can also find a list of our member companies' recycling programs at GoWirelessGoGreen.org.
- You can also participate in a buy-back or trade-in program, which may offer incentives such as gift cards.
- Many wireless carriers and manufactures provide prepaid shipping materials to ease the recycling and/or reuse of your wireless device(s).
- Establish a program at your company or in your community for collecting wireless devices for reuse.
