CTIA Statement on the NTIA 500 MHz Progress Report

In response to the National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA) releasing its 500 MHz Progress Report, I said:

“We strongly applaud the efforts of NTIA, the FCC and federal agencies to free up key spectrum bands, such as the 1755-1780 MHz band, which will be made available for auction in November. NTIA and the FCC play a vital role in identifying spectrum bands for reallocation to commercial mobile wireless use and doing the hard work of maximizing access to airwaves that can be used to drive our economy. NTIA’s Progress Report importantly highlights that there is still much work to be done to meet the President’s spectrum goals and to satisfy the growing mobile spectrum crunch. We look forward to a continued collaboration in order to meet the long-term needs of U.S. consumers and businesses and to maintaining our global leadership in mobile broadband.”
