After the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Commercial and Administrative Law Hearing on the Digital Goods and Services Tax Fairness Act of 2011 (H.R. 1860), I released the following statement:
“Today’s hearing was an important step toward preventing the imposition of discriminatory taxes on products and services that are downloaded to mobile devices or other Internet connections. Providing businesses and state and local governments with clarity about how digital commerce should be treated is critical to ensuring that mobile commerce flourishes. We look forward to movement of the Digital Goods legislation and urge its enactment this year."
