In recognition of Earth Day, CTIA launched “go wireless, go green” to provide useful information about measures consumers can take to be more environmentally responsible, CTIA members’ initiatives to improve their operations to be more sustainable and the eco-friendly value wireless provides other industries.
From recycling “old” devices and accessories to monitoring utility grids to improving fleet management routes, wireless technology is playing a significant role in helping consumers and businesses create a healthier environment and become more cost-efficient and productive.
While our members are devoting substantial resources to keep our planet healthy for future generations, the website highlights the U.S. wireless industry’s critical need for more spectrum to continue the green “virtuous cycle” that offers Americans the world’s best innovative products and services.
For consumers, the site provides a step-by-step guide on how they can safely and securely recycle their devices and accessories, FAQ, additional resources, quick facts and a glossary.
To learn how the industry is improving its own practices, we explain how our members “go green” in their utility/water efficiency; recycling and e-waste; devices and packaging; and green operations. We also highlight a few awards our members have received their "green" activities.
We also provide an overview on how wireless technology improves efficiency and productivity by implementing utility/water efficiencies and green operations.
