Day 2 Concludes at CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS”!

The second day CTIA ENTERPRISE & APPLICATIONS™ is wrapping up in San Francisco. It’s been another great day full keynotes, educational sessions, the exhibit floor and partner events.

This morning’s keynotes featured a CIO roundtable on how wireless is revolutionizing the marketplace across a diverse number of industries. Moderated by Bob Evans, senior VP and “Global CIO” director at Information Week, the speakers today included:

  • John R. Dick, senior VP and CIO at Western Union, who spoke about wireless providing another opportunity to reach customers and the strong opportunities presented with apps on smart devices;
  • Jackie Woods, systems manager at UPS, who discussed how wireless is meeting the challenges of asset management and how the company has deployed innovative wireless solutions to ensure driver safety and efficient delivery of packages; and
  • Rusty Yeager, VP and deputy CIO of HealthSouth, who explained that the high speed, low latency environment of 4G networks is enabling more services to be moved onto cloud platforms and how apps have the potential to transform claims and sales processing.

Check out the highlights from today’s keynotes and other exclusive videos from the show at the show coverage website.

Also announced today were the winners of Hot for the Holidays, showcasing the upcoming holiday season’s hottest mobile gift ideas. Categories included “fashionista,” “globetrotter” and “music enthusiast.”

Tomorrow is our last day in San Francisco so be sure to keep visiting the blog for new photos, updates on show activity and announcements from CTIA. We’d also love to hear your thoughts and ideas about the show in the comments section of the blog.
